We have officially kicked off the 2021 harvest year and the fescue straw yields look down from average. The color and quality look good, but there is not much material in the fields. The orchard grass was so thin that the majority of our suppliers chopped back the straw while combining meaning our supply of orchard grass straw will be severely limited. Annual ryegrass yields and quality look good, it is still too early to tell for perennial. The good news is so far all of the quality looks good on all of the commodities and there is no rain in the forecast. Keep checking back in for more updates and thank you for following Farmers Direct.
